It just doesn't get any better than this....
Summer is the best, so many great foods to eat and share. We have a wonderful neighbor who grows some awesome vegetables and fruits. They are so very generous to share them with us. I can't thank them enough.

Spring came and went.....
I thought there would be more postings but it seems I spend more time looking at everyone else's blog and not posting to mine. Can't seem to change that bad habit. I just love looking at all the great stuff everyone does. Mostly quilting, there are some amazing quilters online. Love to view the work they do. I haven't been doing much quilting lately. Still working on my "Wool Crazy" but it has been so hot, it's a little hard to pick it up and work on it.
I also made that little table quilt in the spring, it is charm squares and inner border with ric rac and a pieced outer border with scallops. It is not very big, but fit my table perfectly.
Back to work on something new....

A pillow for Alexa........
Sunday, February 7, 2010
I visited a friend in December and she had these items laying on a table outside. Now I know you all would know what the pinkish things are....but do you know what the greenish things are? I certainly didn't...they are very prickly like a cactus . Great color.
Football day....the big one. So I am going for the Saints. It only seems fair that the Saints win. After all they have had a bad time........in the past several years.
I will get to sew....maybe! But I need to finish my homework for Bible Study this week. That comes first. And eat some goodies.....yeah. Have a great day.

Still looking at the block
Well I haven't made much progress on the Wool Crazy block yet. Did a little on the middle block and kinda got stuck on the edge of the two connecting blocks. I saw some pictures on the Wool Crazy Sew Along postings of the actual quilt as it it shown in the store "The Country Loft". They are great photos and really helped me see the stitching and how gorgeous it looks. I sure hope I can just come close to how great it looks.

One More
Didn't get the pictures of the new to be great grand son's "Tag Along" and Burp cloth, and changing mat..... All these pattern were from Strawberry Patches own designs. Fun to make and not to time consuming. Once you start on the burp cloth's you could just make hundreds of them.......welllll maybe 10 or so. They are really fun to make.
Well here is a quick view of my crazy wool thing........it's crazy alright. I thought it would take forever to get the pieces down so I could start on the fun part....
Also a few pictures of things I did before Christmas, the about to be pincushion in crazy quilting has been a project for a while and the little pink and bright colored "Tag Along" was for my great grand daughter for Christmas....she is just one year old. And the browns and greens tag along is for my new to be great grand son. Oh my how time flies....:)
A little info on the pictures .........
The quilt is embroidery squares with words about Christmas. I got the pattern free as a BOM from Gail Pan Designs and then I used the Christmas fabric Glace' to finish the blocks and border. I am really happy with the results, haven't a clue on how to quilt it. Any idea's!
The table runner is talked about in the post below. I really love the fabric. It feels like a wonderfully soft linen, it is a linen but only 55% and 45% cotton. It is really soft and yummy. It made a get Valentine table runner .....

Some sewing
A few days ago I joined the new site "Wool Crazy Sew Along" . I am quite excited about it, I love working with wool and I recently had signed up for a BOM with Sierra Cottons and Wools in Bishop, CA. We are making the same wool quilt that the sew along is going to be doing. So I just thought how perfect, I can gain new information on any problems they may run into and share my problems and successes with them.
I also recently made a table runner from "French General" fabric. The pattern idea I found on Strawberry-Patches blog. Suzanne had done a tutorial on it before Christmas. I was real pleased with the results. That website is www.strawberry-patches.com, and there is a blog you access from that site and you will find the tutorial in past posts before Christmas.

Started a new Bible Study last night. Looks like it will be fun. Lots of new ladies and a new study for me. I have never done one of Priscilla Shirer's studies before.
I also got a chance to see Darlene's quilt for her "Round-robin" they did last fall. It is just absolutely beautiful. They all did such a nice job. I think I am going to try and make one similar to hers. She started with a basket block set on point. Then appliqued with flowers and leaves in the basket. It was lovely and I will look for something similar.
My daughter-inlaw is still on the road, almost through New Mexico. So she doesn't have too much further to go and the weather will be better. I am praying for her safety. This is a very difficult time for both of them and they will just have to find a way to work through it. As much as I would like to jump in and say come on kids, lets quit poking one another.
Today is my great grandbaby's 1st birthday......Alexa is one year old. Oh my how the time flies.
Have a wonderful day, think I will get to sewing being as it is a rainy day. LOL

New Year.......... Year 2010
Well I certainly dropped the ball on that promise. I do think maybe, just maybe I will get with it this year. Year 2010 can you believe it. We had a wonderful Christmas, went to Newport Beach, CA and spent the holiday with my brother and his family. Something we have done for the past several years. They have young children, so it makes Christmas much more fun. The food was great, the company was great, and the weather was perfect, as it always is in NPB.
So a few weeks have passed in the new year and the month of January, and I have accomplished absolutely nothing. I recently was introduced to Facebook and have totally wasted all my time playing on Facebook.
My son has been driving through our town on his trips to Yuma and Southern California for the past 3 months. It has been such a joy to be able to cook for him and to share my life with him. He lived in Virginia for 24 years and moved to west coast about a 1 year ago. So this has been sorta a new thing for us to be together this often. While he lived in Virginia, we visited with them usually once a year. But this new thing has brought him my way once a week. It feels just like he lives down the street. Very fun.... very thankful.
